Harriet Tubman

Born a slave, Harriet Tubman eventually escaped her bondage-but traveled back into slave territory again and again to help others to freedom. As a "conductor" on the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman helped more than 300 slaves find their way north. Her abiding faith in God's protection and provision-and her belief that God wanted her free-made her the Moses of her people. Harriet Tubman's life still shines as a bright light in the battle against injustice.
