Bronx Migrations tells the story of a young white girl and her family moving from the Bronx in the 1960s and of the Bronx she never left behind. Her personal story is juxtaposed with the historical forces—planned neighborhood destruction, arson, the drug epidemic—that ravaged the borough. Yet the borough’s resilience, manifested in the birth of hip hop, spoken word poetry, and community acts of resistance—eventually prevail.
